PROJECT: The Bean Trees Dust Jacket Redesign

DESCRIPTION: The original cover of the book is text driven with the author’s name, Barbara Kingsolver, as the focal point, so I planned to design a cover that was more image driven and with the title larger than the author. I chose a warm color scheme as the reverse silhouette of a bean tree because it gives the feel of the Arizona setting. I created this image in Photoshop with a knockout of an Arizona sunset and used InDesign to format the layout of the images with clean typography.
